A. A. Milne (1928)'The House at Pooh Corner', US signed first limited edition

Alan Alexander Milne (1928) The House at Pooh Corner , US signed limited edition , published by E. One of only 250 copies of which this is no. Signed on the limitation page by A.

Milne and the illustrator Ernest Shepard. Condition: a near fine copy and remarkably well preserved. The salmon colours boards retain their original colour. The slightest of shelf wears as pictured (a little rubbing to rear board). Gilded on all three sides. No inscriptions, stamps, nor bookplates of previous owners of any sorts. The American published two limited edition variants; a large paper variant in plane boards and quarter cloth, and this pink (salmon) variant. The latter seems to be much scarcer as this is the only copy on the market. Very few copies will have survived in such beautiful condition.

On occasion Winnie the Pooh books come up which are'flat signed'. Since this is a limited edition the Milne and Shepard signatures are guaranteed authentic. This cannot be said of many of the'flat signed' copies. His Winnie the Pooh books have catapulted him, and Christopher Robin and his plushy toys into stardom.

The House at Pooh Corner was the fourth and last book in the series and Milne vouched to not write another story centred around the Bear. Winnie the Pooh has been voted as the most popular children book series by the general public. Generations of children have enjoyed its charm and Disney popularised the world even more. The book is bound to hold its value. Milne (1928)'The House at Pooh Corner', US signed first limited edition" is in sale since Sunday, July 8, 2018.
