Agatha Christie's "Sparkling Cyanide" first edition, first printing. Signed and inscribed with a brilliant humorous comment by Agatha Christie Cheers! Drink with love from Agatha Christie.
Published for The Crime Club by Collins, St. James Place, London in December 1945. Featuring Colonel Race (his last appearance) to solve the mysterious deaths of a married couple exactly one year apart. 160 pages with no bookplates, no other signatures or marks (slight foxing on the last 2 pages of text). Beautifully bound in original covers which have light signs of wear with bumps to the corners and pushes to the spine ends.
No spine sunning or fade (slight sun fade and discolouration on top of front cover inline with the dust jacket - see photos). Unclipped first issue dust jacket priced at 8s 6d net. This iconic and brilliant dust jacket has excellent vibrant colour and is a beautiful rarity. As seen in the photos there are signs of shelf wear with small chips and creases and the markings of where a paper clip appears to have once been (this and the lack of spine fading helps unify the history of the book and dust jacket together). However it is lovely and now comes in a new, clear, removable Mylar dust jacket protector. Feel free to message with any questions.
