This is a hardcover, First Edition / First Print set of books 1-5 of the Book of the New Sun (Shadow of the Torturer, Claw of the Conciliator, Sword of the Lictor, Citadel of the Autarch, and Urth of the New Sun) by Gene Wolfe. This set is in excellent, collectible condition with only minor wear as pictured and all five books are confirmed to be first print copies in correct dust jackets. Books 1/4 and 5 are flat-signed by the author and books 2 and 3 are signed and inscribed by the author. The signature in Shadow looks like the author's pen ran out of ink half-way through and he went back over it (by my eye, all points are nevertheless consistent). These books are NOT book club editions. These book are NOT priceclipped. All dust jackets have been placed in removable, archival brodart protectors.
