Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets by J K Rowling. This hardback book is a very rare First UK edition and First Printing with it being published in 1998 by Bloomsbury. This is the true UK first edition with the complete number line 10-1. In addition to it being a true first UK edition, it bears a signed Hogwarts Express bookplate which has been hand signed by J K Rowling in black ink as pictured. On the reverse of the book plate there is J K Rowlings authenticity hologram proving that it is her true signature. The bookplate has not been stuck to the book as I did not want to ruin any of the free end papers so could be transferred to any first edition Harry Potter book if desired. The book is in very good condition for its age. The jacket is housed in a clear protective cover (which can be removed if desired) and as such has very little shelf wear. The only fault I can find with the jacket is that the spine part is very slightly lightened in colour but it is not very noticeable. Internally, the book is also very good. All pages are clean and fully legible albeit very lightly yellowed through age. There are no previous ownership inscriptions, no writing or highlighting and no annotations within the book. It does not appear to have been read very much. Overall, an almost fine copy of this rare book that would sit well in any J K Rowling collection.
