A de luxe edition limited to five hundred copies signed by the artist, the present is number one hundred and eight. Descriptions by Dorothy Menpes, who shares a lovely tour of Venice through descriptions of first impressions, historical sketches, architectural features, gondolas and gondoliers, and much more.

A truly striking large paper volume. The city is beautifully captured with one hundred coloured plated by Mortimer Menpes.

In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally excellent with minor shelf wear only, minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities, some darkening to the spine. Signed by the artist to the limitation page.

Th e Light spotting to the fore edge, affecting only slightly the occasional tissue guard, otherwise the pages are generally bright and clean. With one hundred full page colour plates, each protected by tissue guard. Fine - Very well preserved copy showing very little wear. Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy.

Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones. Often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy. Some more serious faults as will. Be described in the condition report under'condition.

Good Only - Meaning one or more faults that could really do with repair. As with good only above but with other faults. Leaving a compromised copy even after repair. Really bad and possibly seriously incomplete. We only sell books in this condition where their rarity or value makes them.
