A delightful signed first edition of David Newell's collection of verses on American wildlife for children, with ten colour plates by the author. Overall Condition: Very Good Indeed. This book weighs 0.5 KG when packed. A signed first edition of this playful work, published in 1929. Author's name inscribed on the half title page in ink.

With ten colour plates and numerous monochrome illustrations throughout the text by the author. This copy includes a contemporary printed list of reviews. Written by the David Newell, this work is a collection of verses on various American wild animals for children. David Newell was an American journalist, novelist and children's writer perhaps most famous for his books regarding early twentieth-century rural life in West Central Florida. In the publisher's original pebbled cloth binding with gilt detailing. Externally, very smart and bright. One small tear to cloth on front joint. Minor bumping to head of spine.

Pictorial end papers in lovely condition. Pages are generally bright and clean with the odd spot. Closed tear, approximately 2 inches, to page 21.

Fine - Very well preserved copy showing very little wear. Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy. Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones. Often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy. Some more serious faults as will.

Be described in the condition report under'condition. Good Only - Meaning one or more faults that could really do with repair. As with good only above but with other faults. Leaving a compromised copy even after repair. Really bad and possibly seriously incomplete.
