A very smart, signed first edition of George Cornwallis-West's guide to fishing. Intended as a work to provide'a few useful hints' to younger readers attempting proficiency in the'gentle art' of fishing. Wonderfully illustrated, containing a frontispiece of the author. Major George Frederick Myddleton Cornwallis-West (14 November 1874 - 1 April 1951) was a British Office and author who has been noted primarily for his famous marriages. The first to Jennie Jerome, mother of Winston Churchill, and the second to renowned actress Stella Campbell, known on the stage as Mrs. Ink inscription from the author to recto of front endpaper,'To "Lovely" - Temple, from her friend the author G Cornwallis-West'.

In the publisher's original cloth binding, with black title to front board and spine. Small mark to the bottom left of front board. Some very light bumping to the extremities. Previous owners bookplate to front pastedown and recto of front endpaper.

Recto of front endpaper signed by author. Small sticker to bottom right of rear pastedown. Fine - Very well preserved copy showing very little wear. Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy.

Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones. Often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy. Some more serious faults as will.

Be described in the condition report under'condition. Good Only - Meaning one or more faults that could really do with repair. As with good only above but with other faults. Leaving a compromised copy even after repair. Really bad and possibly seriously incomplete.
