Dick Francis was a prolific British crime writer, whose works focus upon horse racing in England. Francis' inspiration came from his own experiences as a successful steeplechase jockey, winning over 350 races and notably being appointed jockey for Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, riding her horse the Devon Loch. Francis went on to have a prolific writing career, penning more than 40 international bestsellers, famously writing a book a year (with the exception of 1998 in which he published a series of short stories instead).
Whilst all his works were set against the backdrop of horse racing, the protagonists themselves varied, and included artists, wine merchants and journalists, to name a few. This wonderful collection brings together these much-loved works, demonstrating the breadth of his writing career. Truly an exceptional addition to any collector's library.
