In the publisher's original illustrated dust wrapper, price unclipped. The penultimate book in Wheatley's'Roger Brook' series, about a Napoleonic era secret agent.

In this thrilling occult novel, set in the early nineteenth century, a sensuous Irish witch seeks to revive the Hell Fire Club. She ensnares Brook's lovely daughter, Susan, who is being led towards the alter of a ruined castle, where, on Walpurgis night, she will be ritually sacrificed in a Black Mass. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with price unclipped dust wrapper. A touch of sunning to dust wrapper back strip, with rubbing to back strip head and tail, resulting in small losses. Small closed tear to tail of front wrap.

Overall Condition: Fine Near Fine. Fine - Very well preserved copy showing very little wear. Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy. Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones.
