An entertaining children's novel,'Danny the Champion of the World' embodies Dahl's whimsical storytelling abilities. It was this novel that first had an appearance of the BFG, when Danny's father tells him a version of the BFG as a bedtime story. Illustrated throughout by Jill Bennett. Dahl is one of the most beloved children's writers of the twentieth century, known for his unsentimental and macabre children's novels, though he wrote extensively for adults too. In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dustwrapper.

Externally, fine, with just a couple of very light marks to the boards. Dustwrapper with very light edge wear, backstrip is a little sunned. Light marks to the dustwrapper. Pages are bright and clean.

Author's signature tipped-in to the title page. In a very bright condition for a children's novel. Overall Condition: Fine Near Fine. Fine - Very well preserved copy showing very little wear. Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy.

Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones. Often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy. Some more serious faults as will.
