With the publisher's original unclipped dust wrapper. This series of essays is the companion volume to'A Long Desire', both of which offer the results of an author longing to explore the unknown. With discussions ranging from the explorer Richard Halliburton to the philosopher Paracelsus. Connell, recognised for his short stories and historical works, notably his Mrs.Bridge novels, which depict an upper middle-class couple living in Kansas City during the interwar period. In the original quarter cloth binding. With the original unclipped dust wrapper. Dust wrapper is excellent, with minor shelf wear only. Pages are bright and generally clean, with a contemporary ink inscription to the front free endpaper.
Overall Condition: Fine Near Fine. Fine - Very well preserved copy showing very little wear. Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy. Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones. Often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy. Some more serious faults as will.
