This volume exemplifies Scarfe's vibrant, violent and surreal artistic style, and showcases much of what brought him his acclaim. Scarfe is also famed for his collaborations with Pink Floyd and his role as production designer on the 1997'Hercules' film. First edition, with signed lithograph of a caricature of Thatcher, and slipcase.
Scarcely found, numbered 244 of 250. With monochrome illustrations throughout, and 15 colour plates collated complete. A collection of an incredible talent, this work showcases Scarfe at his best.
In the original hardcover cloth binding, with gilt stamped decoration to the front board and spine, with slipcase containing signed lithograph in folder. Slipcase is a little worn and discoloured, but remains solid. Pages are bright and clean.
The lithograph is clean and bright, well protected in folder. Fine - Very well preserved copy showing very little wear. Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy. Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones. Often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy.
Some more serious faults as will. Be described in the condition report under'condition.Good Only - Meaning one or more faults that could really do with repair. As with good only above but with other faults. Leaving a compromised copy even after repair. Really bad and possibly seriously incomplete.
