This is one of the first literary criticisms of the work of Churchill, acknowledging his writing career of which he wrote over fifty books and received the Nobel Prize for Literature. Inserted is an intriguing empty envelope. Williams and with an ink inscription on the back'Sir Winston Church (The death of Lord Cherwell)'.The stamp is dated 1957 from Kent, at 05:30AM. This was likely a letter sent from Churchill's offices to inform Mrs. Williams of the death of Lord Cherwell, the prime scientific adviser to Churchill during the War, who died naturally in his sleep in 1957.
In the original publisher's cloth binding and unclipped dust wrapper. There are some light creases to the extremities of the dust wrapper. The pages are very bright and clean.
