For sale is a Signed Hardcover 1st U. Edition, 2nd Print Bloomsbury published Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J. Bloomsbury First Edition, not Ted Smart, book club or foreign edition. Number line reads "10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2" Printed and bound in Great Britain by Clays Ltd, St Ives plc. Early printing with no Hogwarts Crest on the cover page which was quickly changed. First State dust jacket with capitalization and. Errors on dust flap for the two children listed for the quotes as "Age 10" and was quickly corrected to ", age 10".

This is a clean authentic J. Rowling signature from late 1998 on the dedication page which was the two typical placements of her signings at that time, later changing to almost entirely being done on the cover page.

Signatures this early are extremely rare and highly sought after, and this one is possibly a one of kind being on a 2nd printing Chamber of Secrets as it is believed by experts to be a small print run of only 200 copies. I have spoken to several experts who have never seen a 2nd printing signed copy other than this one.

All points of her signature have been authenticated by multiple top Rowling signature experts as being a late 1998 signature. Dust Jacket Condition Details: Very Good+. All lettering and illustration colors are crisp and bright with no sun fading.

There are no stains to the jacket inside or out. There are no scratches or tears to the jacket, and just very minor rubbing. There is very little edge wear. The corners wrapping the boards are in nice shape with minimal wear.

The inside dust flap corners are sharp with all first state errors. There is a slight vertical bend along the front spine edge, but it runs along the edge which makes it not as noticeable (see picture #6). Overall, this jacket is in great condition with just the minor wear mentioned above. Book & Boards Condition Details: Very Good.

There is no writing or inscriptions inside or out (other than Rowling signature of course). Cover colors and illustrations are bright with no fading. There is some minor rubbing to the covers, but no scuffs or scratches. The page edges are clean with mild yellowing from age, with no spotting.

There is minor edge wear to the boards. There are two tiny shallow dents to the front cover that are very hard to see unless at right angle and lighting. The corners have some minor bumping and rubbing (see picture #'s 10 - 12). There is some inward curling to the top and bottom edges of the spine wrap. Some separation beginning with the wrap and spine of the book that can be seen a bit along the edge of the cover page has caused a slight forward lean to the front board, but the binding is still strong with no loose or missing pages and it stands easily on its own. There are no dog eared or bumping page edges.

This book will make an excellent addition to any HP Fan seeking a very early possibly one of a kind Signed 1st Edition 2nd Printing Chamber of Secrets for their collection!
