Square, tight and clean throughout save some mild off-setting to paste-downs. Some softness to spine ends and top tips look very gently bumped. Clipped dust-jacket has numerous nicks and tears. Wear to edges and rubbing to hinges and folds. Not perfect but still bright and complete. Made into the 1954 film starring William Holden, Barbara Stanwyck and June Allyson. Generically inscribed and signed by the author on the front end-paper, "Sincerely, Cameron Hawley". A solid collectable copy and very uncommonly signed.
