Each volume is a U. FIRST EDITION and FIRST PRINTING in its original dust jacket, with the exception of volume one, which is a first U.
Edition / first printing in original dust jacket. Volume Four, The Strenuous Years, is SIGNED by Beaton in black ballpoint on a bookplate from the Stanley Hall Bookshop and Gallery in London in 1973. The bookplate is headed "Specifically signed by the Author" and is guaranteed to be genuine. This is a FINE (Pristine) set with no previous owner's names nor other owner markings, in FINE and NEAR FINE dust jackets, most without chips or tears. A clean, bright, tight six volumes, with sharp tips and ends, and bright gilt lettering on the spines.
Importantly, there is NO FOXING to any of the volumes. Bit of browning to the cloth at the top of the spine of vol two.Volume three has a small, attractive blank bookplate (you can write your name in) on the front pastedown hidden under front dust jacket flap. Volume three's dust jacket has just a tiny bit of wear at the crown. Four dust jackets with original prices on front flap and no chips or tears; volume two's dust jacket was price clipped by the publisher, with a new publisher's price sticker still attached. That dust jacket has some minuscule edge wear and a repaired tear at the lower front panel.
Volume five's dust jacket is price-clipped. All dust jackets in brand new mylar protectors. A stunning set in true first edition / first printing.
