Donald Campbell's autobiographical account of his post war record breaking feats. The personal story of Donald Campbell, only son of the late Malcolm Campbell, and his attempts to improve on his father's world water speed record in a newly designed jet Bluebird which he successfully achieved at Lake Ullswater on 23rd July 1955.

Campbell subsequently died as he piloted Bluebird on the return leg of his 1967 record attempt (having already achieved the new record speed). The milestone of 50 years since the death of this great man was celebrated recently. Bluebird is currently being rebuilt at North Shields and it is hoped that when complete it will again sail on Lake Coniston-what a sight that will be!
