Boldly SIGNED on the half-title page by the celebrated author! NOT inscribed to anyone, simply SIGNED by the great James Clavell! Please note there is an additional signature present on this page! Initially, we believed the other signature might be of some importance.

Unfortunately, we have been unable to ascertain, with an acceptable degree of certainty, the identity of the other individual who also wrote their signature on this page. For this reason, we MUST proceed with an abundance of caution and assume the other signature is simply the name of a previous owner.

The additional signature adds no monetary value or has any cultural significance. If anything, the additional signature should be viewed as an unfortunate flaw! Once again, we want to repeat that there is another signature present on the same page as the James Clavell signature and we believe this signature is simply the name of a previous owner.

A TRUE First American Edition/First Printing/First State with ALL First Edition Points present! This rare treasure has some very clearly visible wear, but is still in Highly Desirable, Highly Collectible condition! The book appears gently read and other than the presumed previous owner signature we mentioned earlier, has no internal writing, no remainder marks, no missing pages and is NOT Ex-Libris or a BCE. The binding is firm and holding tight. All of the pages are present and fully attached.

Some general/shelf wear along with creases/scuffing/wear to the spine/corners/cloth boards, marks/wear to the edge/fore pages and creases/marks/wear to the pages, NOT affecting the text! Please note the wear to the spine/corners/cloth boards, particularly noticeable on the spine and near/along the edges, and the wear that is present on the pages, varying in size and severity and particularly noticeable on certain pages!

The wear to the spine has resulted in an noticeable indentation/altering the shape. One can clearly see some space/separation along the top edge of the spine. The wear has been closely photographed for your consideration. All of the wear previously mentioned is very clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered.

The original, First State dust jacket is fully intact and NOT price-clipped! Some general/shelf wear along with creases, scuffing, scratches, indentations and marks. Please note the wear on the spine, at the corners and near/along the edges. The wear, particularly near/along the edges, is very clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered. We tend to grade the condition of our books rather harshly and took into consideration any and all wear when determining the value of this rare book.

Our VERY LOW asking price is a reflection of that consideration and if this book was in better condition our asking price would be considerably higher. We purposely and closely photographed what we consider to be the most obvious and egregious wear. Once again, we want to reiterate that the wear to both the book and the dust jacket is very clearly visible!
