This remarkable book is signed and warmly inscribed by the legendary Olympian and four-time gold medalist Jesse Owens. Recognized in his lifetime as perhaps the greatest track and field athlete of all time, Owens made history at a track meet in 1935 by setting three world records and tying another, all within the span of 45 minutes. The following year he won four gold medals at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin.

ESPN ranked Owens as the number one North American track and field athlete of the twentieth century, as well as the sixth greatest overall North American athlete of the twentieth century. This book is in very good condition but for some bumping to the corners and spine ends, a couple of light water spots to the boards, and some shelfwear and edgewear. The pages have very light and even toning.

Owens's signature and his inscription on the front free endpaper, the book is unmarked. 25 was dogeared at one time and the page has since been straightened. The book is solidly and squarely bound and presents nicely.

The dust jacket, which is NOT price clipped, is in good+ condition, with a small water spot or partial cup ring to the cover, some light shelfwear, rubbing, even toning, various small tears and chips and, on the rear jacket cover, a small area of lamination lifting or bubbling which is not particularly noticeable.
