Published by Holt, Rinehart and Winston, New York, 1971. Very good plus or better, first edition book, in very good dust jacket. Signed by the author on bookplate attached to half-title page. Bright red cloth covered boards. Johnson's facsimile signature in gilt against a blue label on the front board panel; title and author's name in black against a similar label on the spine; publisher's name in black at tail of spine. Very minimal horizontal creases on outermost edges at head and tail of board spine. Lettering on spine is scuffed but legible. Front end papers show a Landmark Laws of the Lyndon B. Many b&w copies of photos throughout the book. Book is internally clean and text block is sound. The clear-coating is peeling off the dust jacket in several places. Spine and upper extremities are somewhat sunned.

Lower edge of front jacket panel has a 5/8" vertical tear through the second "o in Johnson. Upper fore-edge corners are rubbed, a bit more so on the back fore-edge corner.
