Our Country by Josiah Strong 1st 1885 Signed By A. N. Palmer Penmanship Guru

Very good copy of 1st 25,000 print run of Our Country with only minor edge wear to the cover, tight binding, clean crisp pages throughout. Ex-libris sticker on inside cover. Most notably, signed by original owner Austin Norman Palmer, whose works and teachings in penmanship transformed the way American students and businesses worked.

Early examples of his autograph are rare, and are usually those created for demonstration purposes for either legibility or artistic flourishes rather than private personal use. This example was most likely signed in the late 1880s when he was just beginning his career in teaching penmanship.
