New York: Gotham Book Mart & Gallery, Inc. Limited first edition in special hardcover binding from an edition of 100 signed and numbered by Patti Smith. This limited first edition also included 26 lettered copies for the use of the author and publisher. While a number of copies of the paperback trade edition were signed by Smith and may currently be found on the market, this numbered hardcover edition rarely appears.

The cover of the book bears a Polaroid photograph of Ms. Smith taken by Robert Mapplethorpe. This copy appears to be unread and is in near fine condition (some barely perceptible rubbing on the rear of the hardcover, a mild depression on the upper part of the spine, a tiny bump on the lower rear corner, and, due to the age of the book, a touch of yellowing and wrinkling to the cover photograph - see pictures for all of these condition notes).

Smith's fourth book, Witt contains a collection of 22 poems, including "Dream Of Rimbaud, " "Rape" and To Remember Debbie Denise. A VERY RARE ITEM AND A MUST FOR ANY PATTI SMITH COLLECTOR.
