He has often been cited as a model for the debonair secret service agent created by his brother. The present copy is from the comprehensive archive assembled by Jon Gilbert (pencil signature within). His encyclopaedic guide to the works of Ian Fleming (2012, published by Peter Fleming's daughter Kate Grimond) won the 16th Breslauer Prize for bibliography.
