Rare 2 Signed Letters Tipped In Crosbie Garstin High Noon First Edition 1925

First UK Edition 1st Impression Published By William Heinemann London 1925...... Condition and Status of the Book. This is a Good Copy of this hardcover book in Publisher's blue cloth with black title lettering to spine and upper cover. There area couple of nicks to the cloth at head and of spine and rubbed also to the tail of spine. This copy has two handwritten letters tipped in at the front of the book by the Author both addressed to a Mr Matheson and one is dated 1923 and the other is 1925 from his Cornwall address.

One letter is in reply to the Author's work and the other one is a cordial supper invitation from Mr Matheson to the Author. Rather charmingly Garstin has replied in part'' Don't worry about the supper, our tastes are very simple, a bone on the door mat will do us admirably'' both letters have been signed by Crosbie Garstin. Binding of the book remains firm with a little light spotting to the endpapers, a tad of age toning to the text block edges etc. The novel is the second in the Penhale Series. Ortho Penhale taken by press gang into the Navy, is fighting against the French at the Battle of the Saintes under Admiral Rodney.

Returning home wounded to Bosula, his farm in west Cornwall, Penhale finds his world changed irrevocably. Rare title especially with the added attraction of the two accompanying letters Tipped in at the front of the book, 8vo 331pp First Edition 1st Impression [1925]. Free Sent Within The UK...
