1ST / 1ST EDITION of HARRY POTTER & THE PHILOSOPHER'S STONE (IN WELSH). SIGNED BY THE TRANSLATOR, EMILY HUWS. Harri Potter a Maen yr Athronydd (Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in Welsh). The book has been translated from English to Welsh by the translator, Emily Huws, Huws has also signed the book on the front free endpaper -'dymuniadan gorau, Emily Huws' - which translates into English as'best wishes, Emily Huws', she has also dated her signature 2003.
The book is not a cheap book club edition like many others on the market, it was published in 2003 by Bloomsbury. Both the book and the dust jacket are in very good condition, just the bit of shelf wear and a small tear to the jacket (top, front), not really noticeable, but should be pointed out. There is a bit of age related tanning to the pages (very common with all the earlier printings of the Harry Potter books due to the type of paper used by Bloomsbury, it would be hard to find any early edition without some tanning), otherwise the book itself is in mint condition.
Please note that the text throughout is in Welsh. A fabulous book, the 1st / 1st UK editions of this title in English demand tens of thousands of pounds and are out of reach for most collectors, this Welsh edition is a great way to own a 1st printing of this iconic book.
