On the verso of the front cover and DATED in 2003. Ref : The Photobook : A History Volume 3 page 94 by Martin Parr and Gerry Badger. Teenage Smokers was released on the occasion of Ed Templeton's exhibition, The Golden Age of Neglect at Alleged Gallery. The book features color photographs of under-age kids from around the world smoking cigarettes.
Templeton does attempt to glorify or preach the ills of the vice, but rather finds smoking a thread of commonality that links all types of kids from California to South Africa to Finland. While Templeton may question their motives he does not pass judgment and wonders with a bemused eye if smoking does indeed makes you look cooler? Released in an edition of 1000 the book is very difficult to find now, specially signed.
