This remarkable first edition book was written by Lebanese-American Nassim Nicholas Taleb, a former options trader and essayist. It details his Black Swan theory, in which he believes large, unpredictable events'Black Swans' mould our world and belief systems in a way that is both permanent and unchangeable by the limitations of the human mind. The book covers huge swathes of life as we know it, from religion to war, world disasters, diseases, and family. A rare book in wonderful condition. I have owned this book for approximately five years. It has been stored carefully in my bookcase and has been cherished as part of my private collection. It has been read once by me. I received the book in used condition. The book itself is near-mint, but the dust jacket has had some creasing to corners, which I've photographed.
