A very nice example of the scarce first printing of the first edition, this was the author's own copy, and is nicely inscribed by the author to the front free end paper "Mr A P Lancaster, with the author's best love, Sept 1894". Harry Collingwood was the pseudonym of William Joseph Cosens Lancaster (23 May 1843 - 10 June 1922). Scarce original pictorial gilt hardback.384 pages plus 8-page catalogue and 4 plates by W H Overend, all present and correct. In attractive condition with some wear, toning, and bumping (see pictures). Light toning to prelims and page edges.
