For sale is amongst the rarest signed books for any John Le Carre collector. A signed first edition of his very first novel published all the way back in 1961 - much before anybody could have anticipated what a legend he would become today. This first edition, second impression of CALL FOR THE DEAD comes in great condition in its original DJ with a very warm inscription from John Le Carre on the title page. Published only a few months after the first impression, the second impression is extremely sought after too to fully complete the JLC collection. Condition of the book: NEAR FINE - Pages clean. Small ownership inscription top right as shown in picture. No other inscriptions or writing in the book other than the very warm inscription by JLC.

Condition of the DJ: VERY GOOD - DJ is original and not price clipped. Minor inscription to front and back. Not been repaired and is in its original condition. With the release of his new book, A Legacy of Spies, in September and the release of the new TV adaptation of The Spy Who Came in from the Cold - the popularity and price of early John Le Carre signed books is bound to rise.
