Boldly SIGNED and INSCRIBED by the legendary Author/Scientist/Icon! The full inscription appears to read. Despite our best efforts, we have been unable to ascertain the identity of the individual to whom the book is inscribed to. We believe the book is inscribed to someone named "Francis" but please know that is simply our best guess? First American Edition/Second Printing with the number line ending in "2" and a letter "B" positioned in the middle of the number line.

Please remember this is NOT the First Edition/First Printing of this title! A TRUE First/First will have a number line ending in "2" and "First Edition" will be clearly stated. Some would classify this copy as a First Edition Thus, A First Edition/Later Printing, a First Edition/Early Printing and so on. We prefer to be as specific as possible when classifying/describing our books which is why we refer to this copy as a First Edition/Second Printing. Once again, this is NOT a First Edition/First Printing.

This rare treasure has some clearly visible wear/age, particularly to the dust jacket, but is still in lovely, Highly Collectible condition! The book appears gently read and has no internal writing, no foxing, no remainder marks, no missing pages and is NOT Ex-Libris or a BCE. The binding is tight and the pages are still surprisingly crisp and clean! Some general/shelf/age wear along with creases/wear to the spine/cloth boards, creases/scuffing/wear to some of the pages and wear to the edge/fore pages, NOT affecting the text!

Please note the creases/wear to the spine/cloth boards! The wear has resulted in a somewhat concave shape/indentation to the spine/cloth. Please also note the creases/scuffing/wear that is present on some of the pages! While not terribly egregious, all of the wear is still very clearly visible and should be carefully examine/considered. The original dust jacket is fully intact and NOT price-clipped!

Some general/shelf/age wear along with creases, chipping, rips, toning/age discoloration and marks. There are also some marks on the inside of the dust jacket! Please note the wear on the spine, at the corners and near/along the edges! The wear is very clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered. As a courtesy, the dust jacket has been encased in a brand new, removable, museum quality dust jacket!

We tend to grade the condition of our books rather harshly and took into consideration any and all wear, particularly to the dust jacket, when determining the value of this incredibly RARE book.
