The book is a collection of short tales which are all based within the historical framework and subcreative environment of Middle-earth. The book comprises 48 pages, printed on only one side. The pages are numbered 1 to 48 by hand it would seem in the top right corner and each story is also numbered (other than the first story) in the centre of the top margin of the page.The titles of the five stories can be seen in the pictures. Page 11 has a correction in hand(see pictures). The publication date is taken from the last page of the text and the author's introduction where he states that "A second volume of Ruins of Osgiliath may appear at Oxonmoot 1991 if the response to the present collection is favourable"-see pictures.
