Through the Dark Continent, 2 volumes, 1878 first edition. With signed original letter from Henry Morton Stanley on his headed notepaper, inviting the recipient, a Mr. Campbell, to dinner with him.

Books are in original binding: condition good with no missing pages, although slightly loose binding and minor splits to inside front hinge (pictured) in volume 1. Both original fold-out maps present and complete in slip-sheaths at end of each volume, although with some fairly extensive splitting along the folds (see photos).
