All books are first edition, first printing, all with wrappers which have some small splits, loss and chipping to head and tail but still fairly good for their age, contents are all good with some light foxing in places. Volume one "Into Battle" has an interesting bookplate of Vice Admiral Sir Roderick Macdonald on the front free endpaper together with a genuine hand signed cut signature of "Churchill" signed as W. Churchill which was the way he signed in the 1920's -30's and now rare to find, on the following page there is another previous owner stamp belonging to Commander J. Joseph Bartosik was Polish and served in Polish destroyers under the British Naval Command during World War II and later became "Rear Admiral" and the only non Biritish man to obtain "Flag Rank" in the British Navy, thus making this set a rare collectable set of books which are also now housed in a black cloth slip-box for their future protection.
